I've driven Defenders, and mostly Discos, for decades in all conditions but I have never driven a RR in snow or ice or a combination. My thoughts are that they would handle rather well but it struck me that I should ask to avoid any surprises. Advice and stories very welcome? (Bet you can't get a boat or canal in there!)
 
My advise for winter driving is don't drive along a snowy canal path or you might slide into the water and they do not make very good boats as the water fry's the electrics:D:D:D:D

I have an early TD6 L322 and it performed great in the snow, just remember it's a big old heavy lump to bring to a halt on ice though.
If you know how to drive, have good tyres and respect the laws of physics you will have no issues :)
 
Just take it easy there are a lot that just think as they have a 4x4 they are invincible and can do normal speeds but it all goes tits up when they try and stop or come to a bend, two plus tons will not stop just because its for wheel drive.
