L322 : 2002 : Had FR Air Strut replaced and now........

AS you know I had my FR Air strut replaced. (should of done a pair, i know. Live/learn etc). Car seemed to be driving ok. Just went out to collect a takeaway and noticed the car is pulling to the left slightly under normal driving conditions and pulls a fair bit under breaking.

Any ideas?
 
Your other post suggests you believe N/S bag now gone AFTER just having only the O/S replaced, sounds like floppy bag syndrome, your compressor is probably on quite a bit then.

You haven't kerbed it yes/no?
You checked tyre pressures yes/no?
When you leaving for France?o_O
Are you still keeping it for 'ever'? ;)

Last thing to check before anything else (with tyre pressures ok) is jack up that wheel and feel for a sticky caliper, better still get wheel off to check.

Yeah, I think the car being in a weird position with the O/S being replaced may have cause the N/S bag to go.

it's going VERY slowly mind, so not a big leak. Would that have impact on the car tracking? enough to make it veer to the left or do you think it's an unrelated brake issue?

Not Kerbed it.
Air Pressure was 37 (all round - that bad?)
Leaving Saturday, first thing.
lol, yeah i aim.

I have a N/S Front strut arriving Saturday. Hoping I can call around and sort someone out with a nice bit of wedge to swap it over.

How long does it take to pull off and put on again?
 
From my comfy chair I'd go for bag at fault since the other side went.
But I'd still check caliper, let handbrake off on a VERY slight hill, you may feel it bind and keep you static, if so get your oily onesy on and see if disc is stiff to rotate or Take it for a 10 min run, compare both wheel centres for same heat.
But more than likely it's a continuation of a common theme, should of done both. 20/20 hindsight, we've all had a taste of it.

I've not changed one but I doubt it's much more than an hours work, maybe 1.5.

At the end of the day it's a spring, and springs ought to be changed in pairs, and weird 'pulling' is usually the net result of doing just the one.
