Strut brace for my Td4. Been wanting one for ags but nobody made them - or so I thought. Not this side of Christmas though, £132.98. Ebay item no.400620434602.
Would go well with my Rollcage. I'm surprised this type of thing hasn't been available before. There are lots of other things out there being made, most in direct competition with others, but this is so simple and effective.

I saw these the other week somewhere else, can't remember where though

I was going to ask you whether you fancied making me one a while back but I was a little too embarrassed  to as it would also mean doing a run, and I don't think too many people would want one therefore not justifying the set up costs.
However, this chap has "more than 10" so they should already be made (although delivery date of 31 December seems a long time, even factoring in for Christmas, especially via courier). Does the cost seem reasonable to you ?

Nothing wrong with asking, you're not the only one who wants one! Had enquiries for TD4 and L series strut braces, using the same mounting plates should be possible and just have an interchangeable bar depending on what engine is fitted.
That price seems reasonable and should be easily achievable.

Their listing says there's 1000 available lol, but they've never sold any, but maybe thats cos of the 3 week dispatch time. Could make em from scratch in less time!

What sort of price could you manage Simon??

if you could be better than that you may get some orders??

I'd have to look at it in detail, at a guess, as a group buy, £125 should be a good guestimate.
More orders = more cheapness
I couldn't take the risk and make say a batch of 10, given the way the exhaust guards and ladders went, loads of people showing interest, and when it comes to it, everybody finds an excuse, currently sat on about £2-3k of stock which is dead money. Couldn't have the risk again

What are the ladders and exhaust guards priced at?

Ladders are currently £165 & exhaust guards at £175 (+ receiver hitch if required) until sometime tomorrow.
Knocked some money off them this week since everywhere else in the world is doing promotions at the moment...

However, if you buy direct and circumvent eBay and pay via PayPal gift, I'll knock off the equivalent of the fee's I'd pay off them

Fully agree. Same with my air intakes. Loads of interest and even a few "definitely's".Even selling them at cost. Then everyone goes quiet. Even the "text me when they are done" people just fell completely silent. Total waste of time and money.
Managed to sell one - to someone I believe wants to clone it. I bet he manages to sell them in his 4x4 shop - and at a higher cost too no doubt.

Yeah that's the way it goes unfortunately, if you still have some kicking around unsold I'd be happy to try and promote them for you if you like? Did you list them for sale on eBay?

I don't think its a personal thing guys, its just the times,
I would love all the items you guys have made, but lets
be honest, the money just isn't out there,

if you add up the cost of one of each it soon adds up, and
justifying it when Gas & Electric, Food and Fuel too have all
one through the roof, is very hard to do..

People want real bargains these days, and that doesn't leave
you guys any margin for the effort you have put in..

Strut Brace £125
Snorkle £200 +
Ladder £175
Exhaust Guard £165
Fuel Tank Guard £190 ish
Sump Guard £150
Lift Kit £100
Spacers £130

Total Just under £1250..

Most people out there are trying to purchase their Freelanders for that sort of money,
or just maintain them,,,you will probably have to sell at a loss to shift these items,,

A real shame but a sign of the times I guess..

I understand exactly where you are coming from.
However, I had my stuff made after asking if anyone was interested AND offered them at cost, not for profit. If people said "Yes, but I can't afford it right now", then I wouldn't have invested my hard earned money. But the answers that came back were a resounding " Count me in" , " I'll take 2" etc etc. I've had emails from certain members desperate for news of when they were finally here. Then as soon as they were ready, they went deaf.............
I could understand if I spent the money first, then found out nobody was interested, but I gauged the interest to see whether it was worth my while, and it was an overwhelming "yes".........

Bit late now I know but perhaps it would have been wise to take a non refundable deposit off anyone wanting the parts before investing any money that should make people think do I really want it/can I afford it.

I personally wouldn't be comfortable giving my money to a complete stranger knowing I would have to wait weeks before receiving an item, even if it were only a deposit.
Nobody on the forum has met me or knows me personally and I've read countless times of people just taking the money and running, so why should anyone else on here feel any differently about me. After all, nobody has actually seen my intakes/light pods except on my posted pictures. Handing money over to someone who has no prior track record makes no sense.
I also wouldn't feel comfortable taking people's money, especially as I had no definitive manufacture date. My GRP guy has to fit stuff in between his regular orders. It wouldn't be fair to make some people wait up to 3 weeks longer than others for the last item in a batch to be made when they paid at the same time, especially if they'd already waited weeks anyway.
I have 3 air intakes and 5 light pods. I reckon once one person buys and fits my stuff, then others will follow. Then, yes, in time I believe I would be able to ask for deposits up front.
Until then, I'll just have to sit on what I have and sell it as and when people ask for them.....or Ebay it.

Yeah I found out that initially people were a bit sceptical, but once someone bought something and fitted it, then somebody else bought one, and so on. Forums are great for that sort of thing, along with feedback on eBay from people who've bought them and seen the positive feedback.

The market is there, its just people having confidence in the seller. There's 3 types of people i've found, people who say they want something when they know they'll never be able to pay for it when it comes to it, people who sit on the fence and pay eventually, and people who find you by accident and buy something from you

Indeed. I definitely want the lift kit from you and maybe a rear guard at the very least, but just don't have the money at the mo'. Just too many things I have to spend the every diminishing money on. Can't believe it has come to this!

A plug for SES88....

The lift kit is brill and worth every penny.

Even better still, Adrian Flux aren't charging me more for fitting it either, or the spacers (thanks JC600)

I agree, and he is my only choice for the stuff as far as I'm concerned. Wheels and tyres first, then lift kit later I'm afraid.
