My Toyota MR2 is 36 years old and would also happily do that kind of run no problem:D

Don't want to turn this thread into a competition, but when my hobby was ex military vehicles I had WW2 trucks built in the US that achieved runs to Europe & Scandinavian without breakdown & they were 50+ years old back then.
Don't think I could afford the petrol now :(

I used to go to Cornwall a lot, until one day I realized that the cost of the petrol and the accommodation, I could have gone abroad. Never been since.
Range Rover 3.5 Classic.

Range Rover 3.5 Classic.

Never look at the numbers, my aforementioned WW2 trucks were capable of drinking far more petrol that a Classic, for me it's the experience that counts ;)

My Cortina is 56 years old and it would cost me a fortune in petrol to drive that far in one go thats if i could manage to drive it for that long:D thats only 30+ gallons:rolleyes:
Is that a Mark one?
I'm assuming so!
I got married for the first time in France, having driven mine there and then back, two years previous to that we toured Scotland in it. Sadly only a 1200 but loved it. It would only do 30 to the gallon at 50 mph on the motorway.:( Think it was D reg, so, '66.
wish I still had it, as I do about most of my old cars that I sent to the scrappy or very occasionally sold on!

Yes 1966 mk1 1200 deluxe 2 door but now 1500cc full rally spec twin 40s caged the lot and more power than the lotus and the works GT rally cars, 145bhp:D hence the very low mpg, down to 8 smiles per gallon when i play:(:D

So started off like mine then!
I'd love to see it! 145 bhp out of one of those engines must have taken bit of getting.
