i think this is the eal deal this lads he asked if it were on flat ground for the drain tray and dont worry as its got a built in swarf extractor :confused:

sounds a bit technical for a mag drill :D:D:D

I have had loads of cars bored out in situ, we used to do it with a van Norman boring bar. it clamps to an adjacent bore and centers it self with "cats paws" these open out in the bore and are wound back in when the cutting starts. we always taped the big end journal the pressure washed the engine after, a few thou will be no problem.

hey boys n gurls its been a little while but finally i got the rebore done about 1 hour ago and hes done an amazing job of it i must say took 2 hours of setting up and measuring but the new pistons fit with the manufacturers tolerances absolutely bang on
and as promised heres the pics of this beast of a machine

absolutely no swarf anywhere to be seen due to the machine having a vacuume attatchment with a really big industrial hoover on the bugger

and if anyone ever wants this done i can pm you his number :D:D:D

im gonna start building the engine back up later on today so there might be another update later on but not promising anything just yet :D:D

im so happy at the moment i could ****:dance::dance::dance:

That is fecking brilliant mate! I want one! Would it be rude to ask how much he charged (PM if you don't want to say in public).

What prep work did you have to do? Just drop the sump and pop the pistons out?

just drop the sump whip the pistons out take the head off and the manifolds as they get in the way and he'll do the rest apart from asking for help lifting the machine on as it weighs about the same as an engine block

just for the rebore and honing only it were 80 dabs pie n mash :D:D

Feckin awesome machine, I wants one.:hurt: Bet it costs an arm and a leg to buy. You learn summat new every day..as they say. Get it fired up Johnny.;):D

im stillin the process of reassembly ive done me pistons and fitted them and spent 2 hours cleaning the crankcase out wich looks like its brand new in there now and put me oil pump back in then gave up as the heat of the day has took it out of me ill be resuming efforts tomorow afternoon when i come back from the petrol station with a gallon of cleaning gear ( unleaded ) to wash the sump out with and a tube of instant gasket to make sure the buggers sealed with a new gasket or not :D:D

and the machine costs a snip at £1500 to buy with the tooling and cutters :eek::eek:

Ah johnny, I'm delighted for ya man, nice one:D:D:D:D:D
Hope it all works out for you now, with your BIG BORE Minnie..;):D:D
