forgot to mention i cant get any sound on here and havent got a bloody clue how to get a video onto youtube but that engine sounds like an old foden truck starting from cold sort of the oldschool rattle and grunt of raw beast :D:D:D:D love it

Oh dear:confused:any ideas whats wrong?

dunno ive got it down to something on the transfer box i got another thread going at the moment with all the details and what ive doine so far

ive now got 3 culprits

rear output bearing collapsed
handbrake snagging on in reverse
im sure evrything else is right

Try handbrake adjustment first

cheers matey i will and the fiesta is a bit of a lost cause it needs new pistons and a good honing out as theres only 35 psi compression after all that

im gonna remove the landys handbrake drum then try it in reverse see what happens :cool::cool:

If the rear output bearing is suspect... is it not worth pulling the fecker out and checking it before any further damage is visited upon the gearage!

sussed it out ans sorted the bugger

i had an epiphany from when i collected it

the ebay description said it had overdrive and it wasnt till i got it home i clocked it had gone but more than likely hadnt been put back standard properly so while stripping and minting the handbrake drum shoes linkages and checking fer slop in the output shafts i decided to have a gander in the inspection and blanking plates ( as yer do )

saw what it was right off the bat they hadnt tightened the big nut on the back of the main shaft wich when reverse was engaged it was working its way backwards down the threads and up against the shaft bearing carrier housing and locking the shaft good n proppa

so ive sorted that with a copper ring tab washer and a good dab of threadlock and tightened it to around 70nm with the torque wrench

if that bugger comes loose again theres summot desperately wrong but now its done and theres fresh EP90 in the boxes and all greased up the box seems verry smooth and livable

i cant wait fer me docs coming back from the DVLA now as im just itching to ram me way out of that back fence A-team style :D:D:D

was gonna sugest the nut, had that happen on mine.
bugger about the overdrive, shame it wasnt picked up on earlier.
yer need to get some audio an learn how to use youtube!

No, we just all want to see a vid and hear your engine! I tried to take a video of my first start up and record the sound on my phone....results were disappointing!

reet ill see if i can get the missus to video the startup tomorow while the kids are out of the way :D:D:D

she recons she knows how to put videos on youtube ...well err sed she should be able to do it :cool::cool::cool:

It's best if you get video software, you can vid with audio and upload to youtube just takes a while; keep the vids short. Doesn't seem to be an automatic link to utube on this site though
