I find these guys are the best: https://www.lrdirect.com/

As with ER1C's guys this site gives you all the makes to choose from, only downside is you MUST have the part numbers to start with, not an issue if you use Microcat etc. I usually Just prepare my list using google or if at home Microcat and then enter my part codes, choose someone between Britpart and Land Rover as the supplier and usually always get something I am happy with!

Indeed, I also like the diagrams for on the parts shop, But that said I have just swapped an order from parts shop to LRDIRECT as they were out of stock of one item, not much difference in price. Its interesting as the 2 have considerable different ranges of filters etc (still the same OEM/NON OEM/CHEAP/LR etc)

Anyway back to the Craddocks flame, I must admit I have visited 3 times, and each time I just really wanted a chat and some experience from another LR lover... alas you don't get any of that in the shop. I cant order from them any more as I always got BRITPART and last time I was on the site you couldn't see what you were going to get.

Yeah, I don't even consider Craddocks now, haven't done for years but I do remember a google image search took me to their site once and all they give you is lists and lists of poorly detailed product listings. Rubbish order of items too, go to brakes and you get a pipe, a caliper seal then a servo connector! What the hell, why not show, Pads, Discs, Retention Kits, Calipers, Masters - the stuff people buy quantity of!

Might it be that its "internet syndrome"

When things are all good you never write online about it. I.e "I went to tescos today and they had food... INSTOCK!!! :wtf:"

Its taken for granted

However people would be very quick to write on the internet that they went to Tesco and there wasnt any food or you had bad customer service from one induvidual etc.

The internet allows us all to slag off something without knowing the other end of the story.

I will add that I have ordered from craddocks on several times and always had parts delivered without any issue. Usually all over packaged (as all companies seem to do these days).

One thing I would never do is sit at home waiting for the "next day delivery" to arrive.

Indeed, I always think mistakes happen, hence I wouldn't quibble over stock/missing/lost etc... However its how the company deals with it that determines its worth.

It always astounds me that with all the bad press about " Britpart " that goes on here, that they still run a multi million pound business. You would think that with most LR owners at least, not using or slagging off their replacement parts, they would cop on and try and improve their quality. Or are they still selling enough not to care?

+1 for LRDirect. Post is a bit pricey for smaller items, often have to find other things to buy ( easy to do ) to warrant the P&P. They've pretty much got every part needed for the Landy and they usually have a choice of manufacturers.

I got about 80% of the parts for my rebuild from LRDirect. Never had any problems, but I am sure that the number of times they send doubles of the parts you order it can't be financially viable!

As others have said my only problems with them is they take slightly longer to deliver than others.

And yeah, for some reason I also strangely enjoy ordering stuff by part number, maybe it makes me feel like a real mechanic!

Ordering by part number also means that you are actually getting the part you ask for. Quite often some retailers will sell "Front Brake Pads" and then state what vehicles they are for, but having so many different variations and modifications possible you don't want that, you need to know what the damn part number is.

i don't know of any that don't show the lr part number mind :)

We are really lucky to have a place locally, called Dingocroft. They've been really helpful so far, and, as we're relatively new to 90 ownership, are glad they are on the doorstep. Not sure if they do mail order/ internet shopping though..

Ordering from the US.... I've only had the best service from lrdirect.com and lrseries.com. both have excellent service and choice for parts, as when you look 'em up, they will list a "+&$%"part or an oem, and a genuine.

Lrdirect, will always get my search traffic... All the parts searched by number; show pattern, oem, genuine, etc. They also will tell if a part number has been superseded. Out of the hundreds or so orders, there was one that was incorrect. The told me to keep the part, then sent me the correct one free.

Well I finally had a resolution on the wrong and damaged parts I received from Craddocks, paypal refunded me for them.

I am now using LRDirect for parts and all has been great so far :)
