The Connolly leather used on the P38 is one of the nicest leathers used on any auto....shame they are no longer. :(

Aye. I'm trying to get a repair done on my Carlton seat and can't find anybody who can do it in Connolly leather as per the original

See below from wiki.

An attempt to expand into the American market in the 1990s failed badly. [1] Despite having been in the leather tanning and curing business since 1878, Connolly Leather ceased trading in June 2002.[2]

Although the leather manufacturing company no longer exists, the brand remains as a bespoke retailer in Mayfair and Knightsbridge.[3]

The recipes to Connolly Hide-Food and their Leather-Cleaner have since been sold or licensed and have returned to the market.

Guys, I suspect the techniques used now are a quantum leap from the P38 manufacturing up to 2001...more like a slick operating theatre environment now than the way of doing things 25 years ago.

But, something that could be organised, even as a group/forum?
