As before, get the right oil into it, sort out the idle speed and change the oil pressure switch. I'll put 50p on those things sorting you out - no point in looking for trouble!

Hello RRB. I'm from south Brum, Kings Norton, Stirchley, Northfield. But I moved to Bromsgrove when I was 30 and then to Thatcham 17 years ago for work. I still get back to Brum regularly because my family are still there. Yeh that's true enough, brum don't belong to the natives anymore. Yep when British Leyland went it took the heart out of brum and the smoking ban killed the pubs, and the city centre,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, haven't been there in 20 years,,,,,,,,,,,, think im getting old and grumpy lol.

Good times was in Dunlop putting in the extruders and tyre lines. Used to drive in on a Friday in the race mini & new set of "dunplops" from the rally section. Closest thing to slicks.
Security would not say anything as they were not correctly named.

Oh Phill now you are going back,,,,,,,,,,,, Gawd racing mini's best of the bunch was the 970S real screamer, I played with the 1275 but that big slab of iron on top of the block wasn't a good idea,,,,,,,,,,,, lol I think I still have an Allard 8 port laying around somewhere,,,,, oh happy days

Racing from brum to Wales on bank holidays in the minis. Every time you get a new car it had to be done. Last year friend picked me up for the "test drive" except it's a left hooker & kept putting me out to see what was coming. He drove up from Portsmouth & then through back roads. Runs sweet & turbo howls

Think I need my G/daughter my phone has a dial and is a coal burner and a nice lady that tells me the time.Back to the plot,,, today I should have my gauge/switch and a few other bits and bobs so need to got on an oil hunt later. don't think I should use the chip fat and WD40 this time

I guess the younger generation would say the changes to Longbridge are a good thing, lots of new apartments and a flashy retail village, without a thought of the thousands who lost their jobs when the car pant shut down, not to mention the death of a Birmingham heritage. It's very sad to see from my perspective but progress is progress and without it we would still be living in caves and mud huts.

Ok Gentlemen the story to date My oil pressure gauge arrived this morning and was duly fitted ( looks good in the dash but I haven't a clue what time it is now )
Set up from cold gave 52psi
running cold ,,,,,,,,,,,,,, 45psi
tickover at cold 40psi
Temp up to normal running 45 psi
70mph ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, 45/46 psi
Tickover ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,28psi
wrung its neck down the motorway for 30 miles
Running ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,45psi
Tickover ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,28/30psi
Heater off or on no difference I could see, ok not great pressures but I don't think she will die in the near future
Worst tickover pressure I got was a steady 25psi after leaving it to idle for about 15 mins. Still have the oil change to do, but I think it was all down to a shot pressure switch and a shovel of panic thrown in for good measure.

I don't remember Sloopys but the others I have fond memories of, except Trevor Francis when He buggered off to Notts Forrest. I frequented the Futral's clubs a few times and got thrown out of Rebecca's more than once. The Futral's were Brums answer to the Kray twins.
Glad your oil pressure issue is sorted, it is a bit low but acceptable I think.

Up date.... Ive now changed the oil, cooler thermostat, shortened the gauge capillary and bled it.... now getting 35psi tickover hot and a tad under 60psi running hot with or without the heater.
