Is this the right part ?

i just buy this ball and if the problem persist i go for that solution. it still lets the light come and off as normal. the only plus point the abs isnt kicking in making the stop longer .
i always relied on skills and non abs braking my whole life.
i cant really see the problem.
in fact i had to rely on abs and it was a complete damage on a mercedes and vauxhall thanks to it.
this solution lets you engage and disengage the actual abs .
designed for off road propulsive. but still let the brake system do his job.




that is what i found and may do if it carry on with faults and kicking in all the time.
My original ABS defeat worked fine for many years but there were / are two annoying parts. If you key off and leave the car without turning the ABS by pass switch back, it will hard code the ABS requiring a dealer clear.

Also, having no speedo / odometer can be a bit frustrating if navigating in the bush.

So I pursued a different tack and came up with a far more complex, but better outcome that retains speedo, odometer etc and doesn't care about cycling the key. The new plan just stays off as long as the switch is off.

Basically the ABS gets a signal from the brake switch telling it that the brakes are activated. It then looks to all the variable inputs, speed / wheel speed etc to determine slippage.

If you can stop it seeing the brake switch then the ABS simply won't work, but you still need the brake switch to work or the BCEM will get upset and you won't have any lights etc either.

This picture shows the new way to do the ABS defeat, and i works perfectly, but clearly requires a bit more effort to wire in.

The sensors are constantly reading wheel speed.
If I pull away on soft or uneven ground, the traction will kick in. No brake pedal needed. This is why the system needs to be in good working condition. It operates on two levels. We all learnt in vehicles without the abs system and my old series 2a was a flipping howling nightmare in traffic.. Four drums and non-assistance...
 
Unfortunately the problems your having now are the reason it was put up for sale in the first place. We don't sell a good one.. We all have been here and done this and this is why we are passing this experience into your good self tyke. This is a big Flipping adventure matey. As I said, it's not a simple car...

I love them.

The couple.times I bought new ones I hated the fact of loosing money in it in no time.
Plus they build.to brake when you hit a plastic post.

But none is as complicated as a.land rover. Lol

It was sold with eas pump problems.. Lol. Plus no heather working.
The guy before me had no idea how to fix it.
He sold it after 2 month with a loss of 1k. Because he couldnt fix it.

I found the owner before and he sold it for the reason being to old to crawl around a car and could not fix the heather either..

I done that. Wasnt much a problem.
Eas was only the problem of finding a pc for the software.
The pump was in in less then 5 minutes.

I dont.mind fixing stuff and I'm grateful of the help.
It's just some.on those cars are like gold to buy.

I get you mate, we can do this all together and you'll win, you'll be the guy that sorted all the problems no bugger else could... And... You get to enjoy it. Some cars take longer to rework and some dont. Your already in the know with this one and you know it's not a weekend fix. Just keep pushing and we will be there with you. :cool::D

im trying my hardest. it is a nice vehicle to drive.
im not intend off reading but you never know when its happen.

i think in his whole life this thing never had as much wash clean wax and polish as the last 2 month since i have it.

im just aware of spending in stuff un-necessary as new tyres on the need soon. lol.
and they not cheap either. lol

Your patience and will power will pay in dividends. For tyres, nexen rodians are a favorable choice?

At the moment is 255 60 18 on it.

I thought about all terrain but road tyre types.

I am planning going up scotland for a week caravan holiday end of November.
Plus I am part of 4x4 response and peak district can be a snow nightmare. Lol

So road tyres may not enough to suit.my needs.

But I'm not really keen on expensive type tyres . Budget will do as I usual have the luck picking some bloody nails and screws up and need replacing anyway before the end of life.
 
I use general grabber at3, on 16's. I've done over 40.000mls on them and I've a few more miles left yet. They do well in all kinds of mixed terrain due to the four wheel drive as well. They are 50/50 tyres and Im not sure if they are available in 18's. They only let me down when I grounded my diffs on clay mud and that was because the ruts were way to deep... My own fault and not the car or tyres.
 
They are available in 245 65 18. Lol.
As budget may get deal on such type.
And with being 18s they higher compare to the 16s


My mate has a landy disc 2 and I tried his 16s.
They make the car about 5 cm lower. Lol
 
so .. ok. anyone has the part number for this accumulator please?

looking for a range rover part is 100 plus bloody pounds.
10 take away's i could have instead. lol.

when i sourced the abs sensor range rover was 27 quit and using the part number was 12 quit.
same with all other parts i sourced so far.
so i rather go for the part number and choose the cheapest supplier.

may i add. the accumulator is running on 80psi pressure.
so in theory any 80 psi accumulator is suitable for it? yes?
dont need to be the one where land rover makes extreme profit ?

Accumulator is nitrogen charged to 80 Bar that is 1176 Psi. Not 80 Psi.

I think you hought the wrong car. You cannot have a champagne life style on lemonade money.

My AT2 were £100 a corner, fitted. Seem to wear well as that was a few years ago now.

Or if you want cheap, cheap. Just look on the Bay and you can pickup all 4 rims with decent tyres for about £120.
