before I go out with a can of petrol and a lighter i've had a look at this article
Rebuilds and the law - by Glencoyne 4x4 (Thetford)
how would I know if it was built before 1998 on the old system

Now how close is that to the tax free stolen Defenders at the B&W show that Doc caused all the ruckus with? And then Red mentioned a few weeks ago there were so arrests made. Sounded like that whole club specialized in tax free defenders.
i totally missed all that. i'll have a read
wheres the bit about arrests? musta missed tha'
Didn't know about any arrests, but that twunt did buy a rotten tax exempt series during the thread so must have been thinking something might happen or wanted to clone another
hmm wonder if youll be in a similar position with your v8, 88 king cab , 5 speed ,lsd rear axle motor
from track rod, that pic looks genuine 90. (inc rest of motor)the pic of the front axle...
steering damper on the axle, thats from a RRC? aren't defenders/disco attached to the chassis at the front.
This thread has gone suspiciously quiet. Come on MR OP what's happened?
from track rod, that pic looks genuine 90. (inc rest of motor)
series from drag link to chassis.
just googled it, and seems both are used. (drag link to chassis being the more common)Ive never seen any defender/90/110 with a steering damper attached to trackrod. They all have went from drag link to chassis.
I know RRC had the steering damper from axle to trackrod because I cut mine off and moved it to dragling/chassis because it kept getting mangled
So using my super duper powers of deduction and elimination and some (a lot of) presumption I conclude the fromt axle is from a tax exempt RRC. Got to be worth a point or 2 that
Series?? no idea about them.
