Is it worth spending extra on leather interior and Anniversary models ?

I am currently on the look out for my first Landy.

I have been looking at Freelanders and Discos.
To be expected some have better specs than others.

I was wandering is it worth paying a bit more for one with leather interior ?
Or can you pick it up cheap enough on ebay, forums and fit it to a Landy with a cloth interior ?

Whats the script with 50th Anniversary models ?
How limited are they ?
And are they worth the extra as i have read online that they are just a ES.

Unless more experienced LR bods on here can correct me, on freelanders, i would say no.. its not worth the money..

The Anniversary freelanders are nice, but they werent made in that little of limited numbers.. theres plenty still doing the rounds, and they only seem to hoold a few hundred quid more than an identical model thats not an anniversary..

From June 2000 (i think) they chucked i leather interior in ALL of the XEI/XEDI models anyway before they refreshed it with a few new parts and the TD4 BMW engine.. So really, the anniversary is just the same as a late model XEI/XEDI with a badge on the door pillar..

As for the Discos, i dunno... but im imagining the same really.. Maybe its worth a post in the discovery section (careful how you talk to that lot - they think we are all hairdressers, and we all think they are inbred farmers!!)

If i were you, id probably get the best model you can for your budget, then try and get a complete interior from somewhere like ebay or a breakers yard.. It wont take you long to swap it all around..

Had a 50th Anniversary Discovery.

It was loaded with extras that normally come with the ES model, I believe the only truly limited things on it were the 50th badge and also the paint, they were all the greeny/blue (this isn't the exact paint code) colour.

That said very good vehicle

Ok cheers mate.
I guess i best forget about the leather interior and get the best one i can with the HG, Cambelt etc done.
Saying that i have had a snoop on ebay and £400 plus for leather interior is a bit steep when you can buy one which is above a lower model for less than that.
