Was looking everywhere to get a spare key and fob .. Very expensive.. But found this man in cork.. €60 plus vat all in.. Couldn't believe it. I'm in Donegal but he comes to Sligo once a month so I set up a meet with him for then..
I made mine for under 30 euro. I got a rover 75 key from the scrappy and bought a replacement key blade and fob on Ebay. Put the rover 75 electronics in the new key fob and programmed my keys and done. It was the first thing I earned back from my nanocom.

Hey guys I really am sorry I've been so busy that I haven't gotten on much and I should do as I started this here thread. I'm gonna join the fb page now too. I've still not finished my defender. It is running but I couldn't decide what exactly I was gonna do with it. I've decided I'm not gonna keep it entirely original. I'm gonna pop in some comfy seats and insulate the whole thing.
Now on the subject of insulation does anyone know where to source some reasonably priced sound deadening/insulation? Some of the prices on the web are crazy and most of the stuff is in the UK so with sterling conversion and shipping the price goes up again. Ice also seen one smug git on eBay actually saying on his ads "it's a pity they've stopped making defenders cos not the price of parts has gone up by 30%". Anyway that's my update for now. I'm definitely interested in the meets, I hope the fb page is about members bartering and selling at a decent price and not a portal for dealers to make a mint on.

P.s.
I'm ex army (hence my landy buzz) and I was a cross country driving instructor when I served. Now I'm sure there are loads of guys out there that have loads of cross country experience but when I'm up and running I'd be open to showing new comers some basic do's and dont's. Time permitting of course. OK I think that's it for now. Laters guys.

LOL yes they are rubber mats used for cattle in sheds so they don't slip.

Some of the lads on the facebook page were talking about them. Seemingly they also exist for horses then they are called stable mats.
The one for horses are more expensive I think but better. I am no expert but the lads were talking about them.

1989 110 owner. Living in Cavan/Curragh. Would like to make it to a beginner event some time to get my 110 dirty if i can get the time!:(:(

Surely I'm not the only Irish owner on here guys?
Hi Fran I've just joined. I've just bought a 1980 Series 3 ex army soft top petrol 5 bearing in England. I'm an expat Brit living in Cork. Haven't imported the vehicle yet but soon will. Not much wrong with it that a paint job won't cure.
Jim

I'm an expat living in God's own County beautiful Mayo. Just moved her last year with my 200Tdi and the O/H has a 90 V8. We are know as the couple with the (wait for it) Jeeps. Lol. No insult meant it's just what all 4x4 are called here.
Hi Medusa, my cousin ( sort of) is an American living in Dublin but with roots and house in Mayo. He's just bought a REAL 1950 Jeep! You might see him driving it if you're ever near Westport.
Jim
Ps. I'm an expat as well
