I have run these sizes in special tracks:

If I was you I would go for 235/85/16. Personally I found them better than the 265/75/16 plus you shouldn't need to worry too much about rubbing etc .

Cheers mark

You're also using spacers. I'll be having the same dilemma towards the end of the year when I'll be looking at replacing mine but I'll be going for all terrains I think, but I'm kind of thinking that if I run 265's on standard suspension with spacers they'll probably rub. I might see if I can try someones before I buy..

To the OP.

If your just greenlaning and doing P&P's occasionally then i wouldn't bother with an extreme tyre. You will be better off with a MT or an AT. Its also a proven fact that insa's will wear faster as there a re-mould.

My Cooper STT's have been on for near on 3 years and there still on about 8mm of tread after 15K miles.

We are running 265 75 16 special tracks with 30mm spacers on an alleged 2"lift n so far they have been good on p and p n green laning, at the moment they're on 7j rims but want to put em on 8j modulars can we do this without affecting anything, also fitting wide arches (Soz for slightly hijacking the op thread)

If I get a disco for the wife it will have at tyres, maybe muds for winter at the stables, if I used mine every day I don't think I would have an extreme tyre,

Nope no spacers.

I have a 2" suspension lift and 2" body lift. That's it I only get rubbing at full lock and that's with 285/75/16

My friends discovery has 265/70/16 special tracks with no body lift or suspension lift and he only has the sand problem as me with full lock.

Ours rubbed on full lock but the spacers have cured that now got a better turning circle n feels more stable round bends! (I do tend to chuck it around like my car n bike which sometimes isn't a good idea!!)

Sorry me owd, lack of sleep. It was Cornish Rattler who is using spacers, I don't know if using spacers and 265's on freestyles will take the tyre to far outside the wheel arches and rub when off roading

I have weller wheels with 265/75/16 tyres and I think there 25 or 30mm spacers and the tyre is flush with the arch, the bigger lugs just stick past about 5 mm maybe

So do they rub on the arches during articulation or do they just clear?

As far as I know they are close but do clear I think I've not pulled an arch off yet, this was befor the spacers.

And this is with them but I don't have a close up of the rear going upwards just the front, when I made it twist and winched it through I still have all my arches, my mates said it was prity much touching but it was covered in mud.

I have a set of 265 special tracks and think that they are brill off and on road (considering ) and have never bust olt ! Also have a set of coopers on 265 and both throw **** up the sides even with mudflaps and finding the door handles can be a real problem (110 SW)

Also have a set of 265 BF muds (KM1's, old ones) and they are a lot narrower and dont pebble dash the sides half as much!
