Insa Turbo Ranger or Insa Turbo Traction Track?

I'm gonna treat the old girl ('94 RRC) to some new tyres, but can't decide between these two models.

The Ranger is the same tread patten as the legendary BF Goodrich A/T tyre, so I am confident this would be a good choice, but can anyone confirm their experiences for me?



Alternatively, the is the Traction Track tyre, which I don't recognise the tread pattern of, but is also a 50:50 on/offroad tyre like the Ranger. The bit that interests me was the description on the Paddocks website:

Excellent off road mud terrain capabilities combined with on road all-terrain advantages make the Traction Track the ultimate compromise 4x4 tyre.
-Small siped tread blocks in the centre offer maximum road stability and good all round on road traction.
-Aggressive alternating shoulder lugs give maximum off-road traction.
-Non-directional traction design provides excellent self cleaning (mud, snow, sand).

Anyone had any experience of these either? The mention of self-cleaning in snow/mud/sand is of particular interest, as the car will be used throughout winter, probably in some fairly deep snow at times, also for greenlaning trips and next year I've got a trip to Morocco planned, which will involve sand.

Any idea which tyre would be best for my needs, the Ranger or the Traction Track? I'm going for a 235/70/16 size.

Aren't these remoulds, INSA? I always think remoulds are dangerous although it could be that they're safe but don't last as long.

I had the General AT2 on my Defender and it was great on road and off road.

Hi Insa turbo traction tracks are a copy pattern of the BF Goodridge track edge - theyare 70% off road 30% on road, a real chunky looking tyre that looks bloody good an a defender or an off roader looking RRC - if your Rangie is a posh looking jobby they might look a bit much.

Yes they are BUT whilst I wouldn't necessarily use remoulds on a road car, on a 4x4 I am told they're pretty safe as the carcasses are very stiff. Also, they have to meet much stricter rules and regs these days, and from what I've read, Insa are the 'premier' remould brand.

Not too fussed about looks, but both the Range and Traction Track are based of BFG tyres (A/T and Trac Edge respectively) and both are a 50:50 tyre apparently.
