Inlet manifold gasket

Hi All

I'm wanting to change the inlet manifold gasket on the wifes 1.8 FL.
I should be able to do it as usually do my own diy on my own jap cars but as i've not had any experience with the k-series..here comes the silly question, where is it!?.

Between the inlet manifold and the cylinder head.

thanks, think i've read from other posts it better the drain the coolant first?

You need to drain some of the coolant to avoid filling the inlet ports with water.

thanks for all the replies. I also want to see if i have an airlock in the system, the valve on the pipe that goes into the matrix just doesn't want to loosen, anyone know if its best to use a flat head on it or a wrench around it to open it? Don't want to use too much force as its plastic on a rubber pipe!

i used water pump pliers on mine but went very carefully

only grip the serrated edge and don't squeeze
