Nowt worse than ‘ good morning Pennine diesel specialist, how can I help you sir’. ‘We lick arse at any opportunity’.
It’s a sod when everything is new.I have never had to do a series diesel injector pump from scratch but as I understand it from the manual it is a proper arse of a job and everything has to be absolutely spot-on
Warn cam chain can affect everything

I might re fit standard valves. I picked up some lightweight sports valves but I think they are more trouble than they are worth.

I’m in a much better frame of mind when the weather improves. I hate working on it inside or when it’s cold.I feel your pain regarding never ending jobs. ‘We’ still have not quite solved the occasional rumbling noise problem despite following up on all the tips on here so in a moment of weakness and a loss of concentration I started sanding down the scuffed up and slightly dented corner of the driver side door which led to more sanding, red oxide, more sanding and a tin of sage green from Paddocks. She still makes me nervous when we venture out but she’s proper tidy atm.
I might cash in my brownie points and go for a rear prop shaft replacement even though the noise seems to be under my seat but I suppose a specific sound will always be difficult to trace when there is so much bl##dy noise anyway.
Good luck getting some control………….
