indicator not flashing

Hi again people. Can someone help with this problem?
Both indicators stopped flashing i.e. signal left or right and the dash indicator light stays on but doesn't flash. I bought and fitted a new relay unit. left signal works ok but the right still doesn't flash. The history is that the r.h. never self cancelled as the plastic part on the stalk to allow this function is broken off. Occasionally the r.h. does flash but not always. Does this point to a new stalk or could it be connections?

could be or just 2 duff bulbs,self cancellation been broken is seperate issue and normal

Check your earths, as well as feeds ...

Dodgy wiring or wrong wattage bulbs - not enough current gets through the flasher unit to warm up the bimetallic strip so it switches off so the lights stay on. It's usually a poor earth but can be corrosion in the bulb holders.
