Evening all!
So today I ticked two boxes on my car bucket list. For starters, I've always wanted a Landrover. I've also had a requirement in my own head to own a V8 a some point before they become illegal !
So why mess around with anything else? Today I picked up both in one car. A 2003 Disco 2 V8 ES.
All the electrics work ( which suprised me! ), it's had a new block recently and it has every single toy landrover could ever supply ( the parking sensors are a touch annoying however! ). Perhaps more to the point, the wife and kids absolutely love it. After tearing around in a Subaru for the past few years everyone also appears very happy with the more relaxed ride!
I'm going into this eyes open and I'm aware that I'll be spending more than one weekend a year fixing stuff. As long as nothing *serious* goes wrong then I will be a happy little camper! Luckily, one of my workmates is a LR buff and handy with a welder so I can see perhaps a few favours being owed in the future!
Anyways, hello from Gloucestershire! I hope to be able to pick peoples brains on occassion and will likewise report back anything useful I learn.
Cheers!
