Disco 2 imobilizer problems

Hi all I am in need of help, my landy is refusing to respond to key fob ( TD5 1999 ) I am in desperate need of the car due to my wife being in hospital .. the fob just wont do anything ..press button and red light on fob comes on but nothing is happening ..cant start car ..can ANYONE help with information ???

EKA (emergency key access) code will help I suspect. Not an expert on this.

You could try the EKA ...... if you have it.
Try replacing the battery in the fob too. If you have a second fob, does that one work?

Yes, the only fast way to get it moving is by using the EKA code(that's why is named "emergency key access") but this will have to be used every time untill you fix the root of the problem. You can also try your luck and replace the roof RF receiver which is plug and play and common failure... beyond these some diagnose is needed and to not be unlucky to have some BCU or IDM problem

have tried the spare key and it worked once .then the imobilizer wont turn off again car still dead .. any help would be greatly appreciated ..anyone in Penzance are able to help ????

Check the red plug on your TD5 ecu. Look for oil. It's becoming more evident that oil in the injector loom is the biggest cause of BCU & Immobiliser faults.
You could try & disconnect the positive off the battery for a minute or two & connect, as sometimes this does work for the short term.

Not for me cos IMO the injector loom has nothing to do with the immobiliser or BCU what so ever

I would have to go with what sierrafery said in checking the RF reseiver in the roof , had lots of problems with mine with damp/ condensation, making it not work , especially in the mornings . Took it out ,opened it up and i simple put one of them damp stopping silicone packets you get with electronic goods in it , never happened again And that was about 3years ago , its easy to remove . In the roof just off Center in front of rear sunroof . Only a 10 minute job .

Ok thanks to all for the help and advise ...I have found the problem and it is as Vanmancan and Sierrafery said ..damp has got in and stopped the Rf .
I will remove it and drop in a silicone bag...
