I'm doing Morocco in September / October :)

I run STT's on the Series too - excellent tyres.

For the D3 - at present it has Pirelli Scorpions on it for road use, for Morocco I have a very nice set of 5 GG AT's 255/55/19

Yep that's exactly what I had in mind for mine mate. They look awesome, I need to save some pennies although I'm guessing they are probably cheaper than the Pirelli's that we currently have?

Sad to say but I'm actually looking forward to getting back of holiday and starting on the landy again :)

Got them second hand, £400.

Think new they were £900 ish for the set...

So, yes, cheaper than the Pirelli's!

I know what you mean, I keep thinking about all the stuff I could be doing to the landy with the time and money our Tenerife holiday is costing in a few weeks :p

Hopefully the mrs won't read this

I am getting a second fuel tank fitted at the end of the month for the trip, and bought a second hand bonnet lid to mount the 2nd spare wheel to so I don't mess mine up. Also fitted my spots at last!

Haha yeah my mrs doesn't have a landyzone account and I doubt she would ever come on here but she knows full well that I'm missing the landy :p.

I have ordered me fuel tank and tank gaurd and also the pump so hopefully that will be waiting upon my return :). Are you getting it fitted or you doing it yourself? By all accounts mate I would save yourself some money and do it yourself. It's an easy job and there is a step by step guide on here if you get stuck or you can always give me a shout. I believe the only part that you need to spend money on is a replacement rear section of exhaust as your current rear silencer (if it's standard 300tdi) is in the way.

I'm doing it myself, but instead of getting the TD5 tank to go at the back I got a frontrunner tank, was more expensive but it sits behind the rear wheel arch on the drivers side snug with the chassis, it's 45 litres same as the main one and looks a lot easier to fit and with no loss of ground clearance or exhaust modifying :)

If I can afford it, it would be nice to have a water tank in the opposite side wheel arch but who knows. If you go down that route, frogs island have the front runner ones a bit cheaper atm as they are clearing out old stock.

Cheers mate, yeah I took it to Boxgrove pay n play, couldn't resist :p

Still haven't been able to get all the mud off though, it's really thick clay. I parked the landy on a slope to hose the inside down but all it's done is spread the mud around even more!

Yes mate I'm up for a convoy, could meet at Toddington or something? Ferry is at 17.15 I believe!!

Sounds good, Mark L is coming down from Tamworth and my other friend is coming from near Staines, so, we can just collect people on route :D

hoping for regular updates!

We've got some hotel stops - i'll have a laptop or two with me, so, regular updates will be made assuming we have WiFi access

Test run this weekend...

:D
we have the annex too but didn't put it up this time... mainly because i was putting it up in the rain, dark and full or alcohol!

Any of you guys got much experiance with the GO PRO cameras? I'm thinking of getting a couple to film the trip but no idea on tec stuff

Thats exactly what I am doing, I have one and will be getting a second one before Morocco.

They are brilliant, I have driven off road with them attached to the side behind the wheel arch, on the roof, on the front bumper, even on the steering guard underneath and never had any problems with them falling off or anything, even when driving with it under water!

You set them up (they don't have a screen so can be a PITA) and then use the wifi remote to start them recording remotely which is very handy.

Or, if you have a iPhone or maybe android phone (not sure but assume they have a app for android too) you can wirelessly see the camera's view, change ALL the settings and start/stop them recording too which is awesome, although I am not sure if you can connect them to multiple cameras at once, I know the wifi remote can connect to 50. The wifi remote is much easier though tbh, unless you are going to be changing the settings between shots, it's easy just to press a button to start and stop both cameras whenever.

Bare in mind you will need the camera , I got a hero 3 black edition off ebay new for £190, a 64GB micro SD card (the micro bit is important!) also make sure it is class 10, for about £20. And lastly you will need the suction mount, get the official GoPro one it's about £40 on ebay. May get a roll bar mount too and attach it to the roof rack, not sure how expensive that is though. The included sticker mount is good to put on the inside of the dash too, it's rock solid.

Let me know if you need any help with it, I will trade for your mechanical knowledge :p
