Hi all, been a while since I checked in!
My old 90 has been languishing in the field for 3 years so I woke her up yesterday! (After putting a blade on my strimmer to cut down the 5' thistles all round it!)
Charged battery and wait for fuel pressure to build up and she roared into life and drove out like a champ!
Then it all went wrong....
There is so much fuel getting into the engine the exhaust is black like a smokey old diesel!
Ok, I 'assume' the float has stuck?
So I soaked the carb in some injector cleaner but the plugs are still fowling and it's a non start now.
I removed the carb this afternoon and after cursing the design that allows only a ring spanner to fit for removal the carb is on the bench.
I gently cracked the top off of the Weber twin choke and struggled to work out what you are supposed to do with the choke linkage? I got it off but I need a better way to put it back.
Anyhoo, is it worth just cleaning out the float valve and replacing the top gasket or do I need to splash out on an expensive rebuild kit?
I don't know where to get good bits and I'm unsure what model the carb is?
Hopefully someone can put me straight on the likley cause of black smoke/non start and the best course of action.
I will try to attach a pic or two.
Cheers.
Paul
