I read the same, i believe LPG burns at a higher temp. That said my engine has never overheated (at least the dial has never gone above centre), but still had gaskets blow out.

LPG mechanic who fixed my system said they only run 3/4 degrees hotter on LPG than petrol.

The camshaft has nothing to do with the heads - it sits at the top of the block between them. These will just swap across.

If you are using a block from a 3.9 hotwire and keeping everything else from your range rover it will have to have a short-nose camshaft of the same type that is in your engine currently.

This is because the ignition and timing systems are completely different and the cam is critical in that process.

basically the same block bur 3.9 has the smaller crank bearings and machining for knock sensors and crank sensor

Yes that's what I had read, this guy with the 3.9 says its run on gas all its life its only got a 2 gallon petrol tank it was running fine when parked up

Ok I phoned both places u guys gave me the one in birmingham only has 4.6's but emmotts has got the 4.0 full engine for £840 delivered or a short engine which is what I need for £540 delivered with 30 days warranty
