If you know anything about the tax exempt rules, you'll know that you get point's for all items that have been changed. Like axles, chassis & engine so it don't have a lot left.

What do point's mean...............................No tax exempt !
 
Fookin ell yea i agree its not right by anymeans BUT look up the term ringer. It may be stolen but it may be legit. Plenty of 109's have been rebuilt on new 110 chassis,

I think you lot would have a heart attack if you come to any old school trial events we hold plenty of coil sprung 88's that are tax exempt made out of old rotton RRC. All were done years ago and before the more strict regs came in.

Obviously as its a 110 it requires receipts and checks into id but it doesn't mean its a ringer or indeed a stolen howver its very very susspect.

That is indeed the case now but grand father right apply. Many were built before the regs were tightened up. This one I don't believe was But it could well have been.

Declaring it a ringer straight away could end you up in more trouble than the owner of the I agree suspect vehicle.

We all know the score many bits get sold on ebay (other sites available), do you ever know the originality of them?? How many people have fitted TDI engines from Discos??

Maybe just maybe the ebayer has realised that this nanny state is gonna royaly screw him and building a 109 onto a 110 for comfort (common years ago) would save him hassel (Driving into London for instance and anywhere else they wish to impose restrictions, Mot's and emissions etc). The money and the time was worth the effort and cost of converting.

He says its had a galvanised chassis well that'll be new not a small investment if its new.


I'm not saying its right but there is motors out there that have been done right using a donor motor all legit many purist rivit counters will not like but thats life.

When did they tighten up? Not seen any dodgy motors pulled, still see loads at the LRO and LRM shows which are 90's with series plates.

How many of the landys at the trials you attend are driven there and how many are trailered though?
 
I thought (and I could be wrong) if you were to build a car onto another chassis, it either gets that chassis numbers Reg mark or it gets 'Q' plate and a Single Vehicle Inspection certificate (or whatever its called).....

Yes... if you bother to tell the DVLA... most people don't.
