i have a unique perspective, I own a 110 landrover fitted witha a race tuned 6.5 turbo diesel engine out of a humvee.
in orginal form engine was sluggish and unresponsive, it needed to be balanced and blue printed, and uprated injection pump and injectors fitted to make the thing go. it will now return 250bhp. 28mpg (uk) and 103 mph top speed.
if i was starting again i would just fit a td5 , big intercooler and chip. much simplier and refined

so Hummer Vs Landrover

the answer is LANDROVER

thats a luvly lookin number....must haul like a freight train!!

Aye what they don't tell you about is the helicopter that lifted clarkson off the mountain while he left the other guys to drive it back down. Unfortunately Clarkson took the keys with him and the helicopter pilot had to go back and drop the keys off.
It wuz on Dave agen tonight, juss thought I'd share that.

I've driven the Hummer, Ford excursion's and Explorer in the desert and they were very bad indeed, the first sign on soft sand and I was reaching for the shovel.. I've also driven landrovers in the desert and just pointed it where I want to go and not worried!

In Botswana, the deep sand tracks are just the right track width for a Land Rover. You can drive hands off if you like, it's hard to get out of the ruts at all. A hummer just doesn't work there because one set of wheels are in the ruts and the other is out of the ruts, running into sharp stakes and other tyre puncturing devices. It's also off-putting driving at an angle for miles. They also seem to bog down in sand no matter how many diff locks they have. And others have mentioned that trees can be a problem, not to mention rocks.

The Hummer is so wide because it's designed to run in the same ruts as made by an M1A Abrams Tank.

A Pinzgauer blows them all away off road.
