L322 How to completely flush transmission

Hi

Do any guides exist on here on completely dumping atf ? Obviously changing the fluid only changes half. Checked my level today and my lovely pink atf is as bad as before. I could only change 6 ltrs. Meaning 6 ltrs of crap stuff remained.

I assume I need to pull cooler lines etc to empty torque converter etc.

Yes seen videos. Wasn't sure if I could connect via cooler to flush torque converter. I'm ignorant.

Sure I read that a full change is not recommended due to lumps of crud trapped in corners of the gearbox being disturbed.

Container of fresh fluid on cooler return pipe, and empty bucket on cooler flow pipe. Let the transmission replace the old with new ?

Yes thats what I'm thinking. If you change from box it's only 5 or 6 litres. The remaining 6 is in the pipework and torque converter

Yes really difficult to know. It could kill the clutches

If a fluid change kills the box, chances are it’s ready to be replaced anyway. At least with the proper flushes they drain as much out as they can.

Have a search I'm sure @Saint.V8 posted something about keep changing the oil until it eventually clears ish.

Yes agreed. If its knackered nothing will change that fact

Yes I might just dump and refill, another filter and pan off again

I changed the oil in mine x3 or 4 times to clear it out tbh you could go the flush route via the gearbox oil cooler but that's another world of pain when the push fit connectors, yes I did say push fit fall apart as you try to remove the lines from the cooler.

Yes agreed. I think I'll change it again and another further change in a month. I really don't need extra hassle from it. So best no go looking for it. Cheers for your reply. Did you do filter everytime?? Drop the pan

You dont need to leave it a month just go for a drive for half an hour, just fitted a new filter 1st time round job done

Yes I done the filter a few weeks back took the pan off. OK I understand you're saying instant change after quick drive

The oil will have been circulated in a very short time so drain, refill go for a drive, repeated. I bought a massive drum of ATF for mine at the time.
