Did you not look at you prop to grease it rather than the book all FRONT propshafts have two uj's and a grease nipple in the middle as well as the propshaft has a sliding middle to allow for movment

The manual on a range rover has two uj' s on the rear no middle sliding part

The AUTO however haS one uj at the diff end no sliding joint and rubber damper. At the other end to allow smoothness in gear changeS from the gearbox

If thats the case, why do i have 6 as explained earlier? Both my cars is/was the same, no rubber damper, wonder why.
And no I do not grease my props with a book:D

For Christ sake. Start at rear of car grease nipple on U/J attached to rear diff drive flange. Move along prop grease nipple on slider. If rubber boot covering slider NO NIPPLE. Grease nipple on U/J attached to transfer box rear output flange. IF diesel auto rubber coupling should be fitted, NO NIPPLE. Move to front of transfer box. Grease nipple on U/J attached to transfer box front output flange. Move to slider grease nipple on slider. If rubber boot covering slider NO NIPPLE. Move to front of prop grease nipple on U/J attached to front diff drive flange. To making the job more interesting you can start at the front now and again. Stop acting like bloody kids. Mine has more nipples than yours, so there. Who gives a ****. Just grease what you have.
