Do you think I could make a snorkel run under my landy and up the back window rather then having it at the front?

what material?
bare in mind the resistance created by the length of the pipework.

I didn't really think about that...lengths of hard pipe and silicon hoses I suppose?

Didn't know if I would get ant performance issues

Would you not be bothered that you might smack it one and damage it, and as it would be under water when in operation any holes in it would just suck water into the engine like a straw?

My challenge truck has a " through cab snorkel" passes through the bulk head into the footwell through the seat box then the second bulk head and bends upwards and follows the cage

You want to have the landy breathing in air from the area of low pressure behind the landy,,,.. And also all the **** that goes into that area.

There must be some benefits as Devon 4x4 and gigglepin ect all build there challenge trucks with them up the back not the front

For some reason i was thinking a van back

Up the back of a truck cab on a challenge truck makes perfect sense. Doesnt get taken out by trees innit.

There is no real reason not to , as long as the sectional area is large enough , what the plus side would be ?

Could add noise into the equation. Noticed on the P38 the air filter housing is loose and it vibrates through the body. Diesels tend to sound louder, french cars use a sound deadening lining in the intakes.

French cars tend to be quiet on account of them being broken down most of the time, come to think of it.........

airbox noise is reduced with resonance tubes and the shape of the airbox is carefully modelled. Any modifications will make it noisier than oem.
