How do I work out how early my 110 is.

Hi all,

Sorry if it's a stupid question. But is there anyway to work out how early off the production line my 110 is? it's an 83.
For example if the last 6 digits of my chassis number is 189000 does that mean it's the 189,000th made, or is it not that simple?

As they came out in 83 I doubt its number 189k

i was asking myself the same question some times ago, and i have not find the answer, but clearly the identification number definitely won't start a 000000 for the first 110 in 1983.

on this link : www.landstory.net , between 1983 and 1990, the 90, 110 and 127 production is estimated at 175000 units (75000 90, 100000 110 & 127)

my 6 digits are 205177 and my first reg is april 84.

maybe someone else have other information to share !

Thanks for the replies guys. I must admit I found the chassis decoding stuff but it still only gives you a year rather than narrowing down a bit more.

Tungstene, that was my thought exactly, surely they won't have started 000001, and even if they did it wouldn't help me knowing if mine was the 'X' number CSW off the production line etc. I'm down near 193800, 1st reg july 83. I have no idea what a realistic time frame between manufacture and first registration, but if its a couple of months it would put mine around April/ May. I think 110 production started in March.
I seem to remember there was somewhere you could send off to get vehicle history and production runs etc. I'm pretty sure it was the Gaydon Heritage Museum.

Gaydon do all the old stuff, not sure how recent they go, but can tell you they had the records for my 1959 chassis number series 2, which I thought was amazing.
Maybe worth an ask on the S1 and S2 forums, loads of knowledge on there
