I have recently purchased a 130 td5 truck cab pick up.
The ERG org EGR has been blanked but still don't seem to have a great deal of power!
Can you put bigger injectors in as I done this with a t4 transporter and gained 50bhp app.
Its a ex military vehicle on a 04 plate and only 44.000 miles.
Its in mint condition but lacking a bit of power...
I have read a few of the tuning threads but can't find anything on putting bigger injectors in. Or would chipping it be enough.

Kind regards.

Remap
Full size intercooler + hoses
Hybrid or VNT turbo + raised boost limit

That lot should sit you at around 180 - 200bhp 400 - 450nm torque, ideally a free flowing exhaust too.

TD5inside are working on larger injectors as well I believe but the problem is once you go past around 200bhp on a TD5 the head can start to lift, meaning you need some £1000 uprated head bolts which makes everything very expensive, by that point you may as well fit a V8.

I'm no expert here but haven't heard of changing the injectors. But have heard about chipping. I also have a Motor Home and quiet a lot of people chip their Camper vans quiet successfully. Although I have heard of a Mercedes MH engine blowing up with very low mileage and Mercedes refusing to get involved as it had been chipped. Also heard of several reports of Fiat vans having the clutch life greatly reduced because of the increased power going through. But they have crappy gearboxes and clutches anyway.

Thanks for the reply estimated cost would be helpful

Not sure about the 130 Fender , but a Dynachip only on a D2 made a very nice difference.

Alternatively , you can go for the further improvements , as specified by @bankz5152 , as they say , more bang for your buck.

Depends on budget and what you are looking for.

Cheers

Exactly, all depends on what you want to do. Most people are happy enough with a remap, which will improve power but you can squeeze more out but all depends how much you want to spend.

As banks mentioned td5 inside are the people to be looking into your power gain! You could just get it remapped without changing the turbo... Or if your feeling as you you wanted more do the turbo upgrade to

Not so much speed just a bit more grunt when towing. Or going up hill.
Just seems to lack that power ..

Give some of the usual suspects a call, you have a choice of suppliers. See what each recommends. But explain exactly what you use it for and are looking for.

If You think you may be modding it in stages, then go for a reputable supplier that is more local to you so that you can have them look at it again in future.

Cheers

If you scrap the oil burner and get a nice V8 in there is should get real perky away from the lights and on the motorway should keep up with the lorries on the hills.
