I phoned my insurance before modifying my P38. I was suprised when they said yes no probs I can have up to 14. :)

I hope you have it in writing from the insurance company because if you have an accident, in my experience they will use any excuse to avoid paying out. I don't know about the UK, but under EU law, non homologated wheels or tyres are illegal.
 
Good point. Had no troubles as yet, think it's a case of - if doing 90mph gauge will read 88. Only do 55-60. Lovely cruising vehicle, although pulling off in 1st you need bit more grunt. I think tyre pressures will be bigger issue in future with these :
