Update: Since removing the box - car drove without fault for 3 weeks....

I've refitted the box now (removed the plastic around the wires) to ensure connection. Time will tell if things start to get wired again or not.

I opted not to solder them in as I wanted the option to remove.

Is there another way to fix this? what's the real cause of the hot start issue? and how do you fix it?

yes just buy a new injection pump.;)

blinking hell... I've done a quick search online... £1K for it... bugger that right off. I'll stick with my £30 part thank you for now. Could an old one be reconditioned I wonder?

i dont know mate, the old pump gets worn and cannot get the required pressure when hot as the metal pump expands with the heat, when it cools down it contracts it gets more pressure.;)

Well... in the interest of providing some feedback and some completion to close the post; I can confirm that the fix is still working as it should since refit.

The issue was caused by bad connections, and therefore any advice for new installations should be to ensure that the connectors actually make a connection and cut through the insulation covering of the earth and other wires as expected.
