How's it going folks, been felching some helpful suggestions from the forums for the past few weeks and thought I'd join up for a bit of give and take. Running (or not, depends) a 300tdi discovery 1996, non ECU, CAT fitted, since Dec 1994.

Been through a whole heap of trouble with this one, alternator, head gasket, immobiliser, flat tyre after flat tyre, headlamp bulbs and connectors, rear electric windows (pending). Awful fuel economy compared to the 200tdi Rangerover I used to run (and which gave me damn less trouble - apart from the rear box section that is). But you learn as you live I find, so I might be able to help some other poor sucker who is, like I have been and was, stressing about something that can be quickly diagnosed and hopefully repaired really really cheaply.

I salute you.

Hi Redhand and Griffdowg, yes took a while, don't get too much time to sit drinking wine in front of a computer these days.

I had a bad feeling about using that word, no offence intended as I was using it in an extended derivative sense, I have not been literally sucking anything from anyone with anything on this noble website, or anywhere else come to think of it.

Complexion fine despite that RH, thanks.
