Hi
Just procured my first Disco..
Must be mad but necessity being the mother of desperation...
(ie i need something to tow the caravan and the Gearbox has gone on my other car!! Shame the Disco doesn't have a towbar!!?!?!?)
Its a '95 300tdi and has many a quirky problem.....
water pump packed up in first day (new one on its way!)
rear lights LHS on bumper failed - now fixed
No rear wipe - now fixed
door locks dont work very well - need a set of springs for them...
no radio - but then at 60 mph you'd be lucky to hear it anyway!!
the odd (plethora of) scrapes on the sides from branches but nothing to metal....
From my going over it looks OK but with some work to be done..
going to book it in for a pre MOT to see what other work i have set myself up for....
Its not pristine, has done a few miles and hopefully will do a fair few more.
Got to admit it is nice to get back to some honest propper british engineering and be able to get my hands dirty on something that can be user serviceable!!
