Hi Everyone!

I'm Tim, I’m 33 and I live in Cheshire, well Manchester too (Gatley) and have recently got a Disco 1 300tdi commercial which has been off road prepared. I bought it to go off road and for when it snows next... Next year now L, I don't know any places to go locally. So I've ordered an OS Explorer Edition map to look up BOATs, RUPPs and ORPAs! However if there are any people locally who know of any places to do some light off-roading I'd love to come along or try and find the roads!

I’m a massive car fan and will happily discuss anything car related and I’m also lucky enough to now have a Landy for the rough stuff now and a something sporty for the road hidden away in the garage to keep me entertained.

I have now finished obsessing over getting my Discovery in fully working order, putting stickers on it and painting it and need to use it.

Also - If anyone knows where I can get the last part that I need to fix on my truck! I need the protective plastic strip that runs alone the bottom edge of the boot door opening. It protects the rubber seal and mine is all smashed. I’d buy one from a car being broken as long as it was better than my one. Trawled ebay for a while..?

Hi Tim

Welcome to the looney zone mate. Was up in your neck of the woods last weekend... successfully managed to trash both front wheel bearings on the M62 on my v8 disco... was fun I can tell you!

There are loads of lanes up in your neck of the woods, but the use of lanes across the peaks is currently attracting some controversy. Recent articles by anti 4 x 4 groups, and one particular one by Roy Hattersly... in which he got every salient point wrong, have started to whip up opinion that the peak disttrict lanes should be shut to 4 x 4 users. I understand that the local 4 x 4 groups are keen to make sure that their members stick to the green laning code of conduct rigidly.

Strongly suggest joining a local 4 x 4 group, or finding local like minded souls on here who will have more detailed knowledge of the area and the lanes that are open, and those which are currently TRO'd

Oh yes... I removed that plastic strip from my Disco 1 V8... if it is the same as yours you are welcome to have it, just pay the postage.
