Hi everyone. Not new to Defender driving but been lucky enough to own my own at last. It's one of the last built I think? Registered in July 2015.
I would appreciate any advice on security/ anti theft stuff ? Seems a minefield to me?
Thanks in advance
Thanks for the feedback - yes it's got a factory alarm etc fitted but thought additional security might be worth the investment?Welcome to lz, mate! Where in Kernow?
I dont know much about late models, would guess that would have fairly serious alarms and immobilisers as standard. But there are all kinds of aftermarket devices available. Mechanical, like pedal locks and disclok for steering etc. Plus various satellite trackers and recovery schemes.
Forum search and google search are your friends!

Will continue to research as I now know there's loads of options?

Hi again .......looking for advice on my wheel / tyre combination - dealer fitted saw tooth alloys but previous owner put on General Grabber AT tyres which I love. Problem is i am experiencing quite strong wheel wobble on A30 above about 50 mph?Almost a neighbour, I live outside Hayle, just a few minutes down the bypass!
And a good friend, Martyn 110, is a Druth boy born and bred!

I've taken it back to the dealer to sort but they are blaming the tyres! Any thoughts ?
It's only done 3k from new so I doubt anything is worn out? It's with a main dealer but despite the fact they say they've checked everything and also fitted a new steering damper the wobble remains?Dont know anything about alloys, I always have steels. And I doubt if the tyres are doing that, Grabbers are a reputable tyre, and well proven.
Are you sure the wheel nuts are tight, and panhard rod, swivels, track rod ends and suspension bushes are all good?
there's a thought ??? I have no idea ? Where can I find out the best advised pressures ?I wouldn't have thought wheel wobble is down to the tyre, just out of interest what's the tyre pressure like
I guess that's a good option? ThanksEasiest way on something like that is to swap the wheels for another good known set.
I know it is a PITA , but it closes that argument one way or the other.
Cheers

Will see what they try and fob me off with tomorrow? Thanks for advice and confirmation about the Grabbers which I do particularly like !
Thanks for the comments - dealer now agreed to change all tyres so I'll wait and see ?Apologies, I didnt realise it was that new. There is always the possibility that a defective tyre might have slipped through quality control, or that one has been badly fitted.
And as Jake says, pressures may be uneven. Alloy wheels and tubeless tyres can weep air round the rims.
Not really I don't think but as they have agreed to replace all tyres I'll see what they come up with? Fingers crossed I'll soon be in for a much better ride? One thing you have not said that I can see,
Have you had them balanced?
Also,
have you tried rotating the tyres , F to B? have you checked to make sure you do not have mud anywhere on the inside of the wheels? Is this a new issue , or has it always done it?
Why does the dealer say it is tyres? they must have an argument for it?
Cheers
oh - sorry yes they've been re balanced twice ??Not really I don't think but as they have agreed to replace all tyres I'll see what they come up with? Fingers crossed I'll soon be in for a much better ride?
