I own a 1998 Defender 90 300 Tdi Hard Top in Woodcote Green. I have read that this was a limited edition end of run in July 1998. I cannot find any other literature on it. Do any of the group have the knowledge to confirm this.
Many thanks.

In parallel to Land Rover doing the 'proper' 50th Anniversary V8 Automatic Station Wagon, Special Vehicles also did a limited edition '50th edition' Hard-Top.

This was produced right at the very end of 'Tdi' production (i.e. the 50th V8s were all manufactured in a batch between April 98 to July 98, the Tdi hard-tops were produced July/August 98 ). Td5 production started in September 98.

It was really a 'run out' special edition 90 hard-top, so anyone VAT registered (i.e. Farmers) could have something a bit special. It wasn't Atlantis Blue like the V8s - it was available in Cobalt Blue, Woodcote Green and Rioja Red from memory.

It was a basically a standard 90 300 Tdi Hard-top with the County Pack, plus the gunmetal grey alloy wheels, checker plate, alloy gear knobs and winders and a plaque on the back - but they weren't numbered like the V8 50ths.

I think 150 were made………….
