Hi all best way to fit new winch

On a Defender or a Series I'd be wondering if he would have fitted towballs to the front, Sooooooooo handy for manoeuvring. But doubt it on a Freeloader!

Welcome,
Best bet is to post in the Freelander section for something like this, there may be a number of options for you.

I did consider switching down to a FL1 from my D2 (changed my mind though), and I found a good site for Freelander mods.
Here's a link to the site, and more specifically, a winch mount.

Not sure what cutting you may need to do to your bumper, but this would be a front mounted winch tray.

Looks like Kev won't be handing out much advice at the mo! Except about what to do with rum, bum and baccy!

Left hand screwdriver, glass hammer, long stand, used to send kids for all of these if they were really getting on my wick. At least one or two "resistant materials" teachers could be trusted to react in the proper fashion!

I'd hate to work on a building site any days! Oh wait, I've been second-fixing and finishing installing and decorating a build for the past 11 years! Yes, but it is OURS!

Indeed, but I don’t work anymore but know what’re ur coming from lol ,

drove me insane at work when apprentices wouldn’t use dust sheets , or didn’t take pride in there work

If they didn’t listen after repeated warnings I just sacked em as I was a supervisor then

I always treated customers home with respect be it a mansion or bedsit , but was trained by an ex para and by god he didn’t take prisoners

I started doing the job when I was still working and it was/is 550 miles the other side of the channel. But I retired nearly 5 years ago. But inevitably, although over there for longer have started actually enjoying it, and the surroundings and social life, so slowed down on the work.
Only half of the biggest bathroom still to do although it is a barstewrd thanks to how the builders mis-built it where the shower was going, plus emptying out the store/toolroom/workshop, decorating it and fitting it out to become a study/music room.
Apart from having no garage, (may do a lean-to carport), the outside is finally done! Phew! All paths, all walls, all gravelled areas, all decking, all patios, pergola, (Oh sh!t, no, just realised, still have a ton of outside lighting to put on top of walls down to pool and around it and pergola!! Wiring all laid but have to find a way of putting horizontal stainless steel lamp bases onto lightly pitched coping stones. Think I'll have to very carefully grind a flat into them.) Will look magical once finished!
I didn't have the luck to be trained by anybody. Do have a son-in-law who is a fantastic builder and he has shown me how to do a lot of stuff, especially woodwork. The rest is a lifetime of DIY, think my Dad showed me how to paint and paper. Fortunately made all my mistakes when younger so although not in the UK I was able to get it right when it really matters in our dream home, even designing it to suit the landscape etc. Only real problems were caused by the builders doing stuff we couldn't do much about as they did it when we were in the UK.
Can't imagine being apprenticed to a trade and then not using dustsheets, or wanting to get it right. My missus insisted on glossing all the doors. And although it was an uphill job for her, as she had never done it before, (and she is disabled) she did a good job and really took pride in it. She wouldn't let me do even one! :):):)
