hi could anyone please help me. i have a range rover vogue and my air suspension inhibitor switch is stuck on so i cant adjust it. any help would be most apprieciated,thanks.
 
it says on dashboard air suspension inactive and on the adjuster switch the orange light is permanantly on
 
This might be stupid, but on the P38, i've had mine do that before cos of a dodgy sensor in the boot. Suspension wont move unless all doors are closed properly. Might help, might not.
 

These things can be heart in mouth experiences but, fear not, at the absolute worst it's the cost of a pump, located under the spare in the rear luggage compartment and it's an easy, low cost fit. BUT, most likely, it's nothing at all. The first thing is to find a competent auto electrician and have the fault code cleared. Once that's done, run the car and try to move the suspension. The pump should be heard buzzing in the back. The speed of operation is, I've found, somewhat variable.

I've had a few instances of the fault you describe and have not replaced anything on any of the cars. The most common reason, I have found, is that the car has been moved with one of the doors not fully closed. Clearing the fault code with a suitable computer will restore the action of the suspension and the fault will not re-occur.

IF IT DOES, either the pump is faulty or there is a hole in the air system somewhere, which may have caused the pump to burn out. Does the car stay upright and at the correct level overnight? If it does the only leak will be at near the pump or, at worst, between it, where the pipe exists the floor, and the reservoir tank behind the offside sill.

If you are anywhere near Birmingham let me know and, if you can't find a sparks I'll direct you to one that is not a tooth sucking rip off artist.:)

I had the same problem a couple of weeks ago but I had no lights on the dash just the air suspension inactive message.
Turned out to be the air compressor in the boot. £280 quid on ebay and 10 mins to fit but you have to get the motor back to a dealer to reset the EAS £88 plus VAT took em 5mins, there is a pressure release valve next to the pump that can cause problems but it is usually the pump. Mine's a 2003 I guess that's about the age they start costing big money.

£88 for 5 mins is just the sort of behaviour that gets honest mechanics a bad name. You DO NOT need to go to a dealer to get the new pump, or anything else, to talk to the rest of the system. You need a competent, independent mechanic/electrician. If I charged £30 for talking the pump into working that's as much as it would be.
 
Well you certainly feel like you've been fooked after paying it out.

Unfortunately the L322 has no additional port to allow a link to a laptop to access the EAS unlike the P38, so it's a main dealer job unless you can afford a Rovercom or similar.
I spoke to the people at blackbox solutions and they have no plans to manufacture an EAS kicker. The only kit they offer is priced at £834 ex VAT.
 
Thanks all for your help i did reverse the car off the drive with the door not shut properly a few weeks ago,there must be a cheaper way to remove fault codes though without taking it to a dealer,it costing a fortune and leaving you feeling youve been ass raped,i must have spent more on repairs than i paid for it
