Hi,

I have discovery 1 300tdi auto and i did body swap, Now I can't remember, where to plug a wiring plug.... It's around transission/handbrake/transfer case area, cylindrical shape, and it has green and black wire.....

Does anyone know where it should be plugged?

I was thinking just that but also I think there is some other thing like a sender for a warning light or summat?
The question is does it look clean inside like it had been connected up before, or not. If it does look clean then OP needs to find its opposite number and plug it in!

Hi, The only 2 way white plug which matches the shape and wire colours of your's, which BTW seem to be black - black/green(not green as you said) is the aircon compressor's clutch connector(which can hang there unused if no aircon fitted) nothing transmission related found by me ..as long as your 300Tdi is post '95 cos you didnt mention the MY which in such cases is an important detail

That's because I have no idea..... According to my registration papers it's a 93, but my VIN number says it's 98. It's a strong possibility that is made from the parts of other dead discovery's.....

The car originally had an AC, but I replaced AC compressor with a modified one for the purpose of having on-board air. Anyhow, this connector was not connected to the original compressor, and it's wires are nowhere near long enought to reach it.

Wires are in the same loom that goes from left-hand side of the car (behind winshield washer container) down.... Same loom that contains inhibitor switch cable and handbrake cable...

Oh, and the plug isn't white, it's black. It just looks white because it's dirty.....

Bridge the pins in it with a piece of wire and ignition on and see if the transmission oil temp warning lamp or other is coming on or not... nothing bad can happen as long as one side is definitely to earth with the black wire...btw are your reverse lamps working?

Yeah reverse lights are working. I did check the other transmission I have laying in the garage, and there is nowhere to plug that. Maybe transfer case? Or something else? The only pins on my transfer case seem to be two seperate pins for diff lock light, and that works poperly.

HI,

I now have some more wiring problems you guys may be able to help me with,,,,

1st: headlights.

parking light work on both sides. Left hand low and high beam also works.

On the right hand side is a bit different story.... Both beams get approximately 11 volts, bulb shines, but barely.
Any thoughts on this? Is there a relay or something that could cntribute to this?

2nd: Windows.

Window lift motors work perfectly, if I manually apply power to them.

But if I try to open or close them with button, they dont move. I have changed window lift module, but problem is still there.
Its a possibility that my switches are fried. Does anyone knoows how to test this? What pins on a connector should i join to test if the module is in working condition?

Thanks,

Mike
