just had to reinstall the os on my mac. now me itunes have gone tits up. everything is backed up on a separate drive and the original system setting are saved on hard drive. tried to restore itunes but it wont have it. even got software that lets you move tunes from any ipod to your library, but can not get them back. still have them on ipod. ANY IDEAS.

just use download helper and firefox and ubuntu. why pay for FreeBSD from apple?

Don't listen to the heathens, Mac is DEFINITELY the way forward (most unusual to hear of a problem with one though!)

Is your itunes library as bought off itunes or burnt CD's - if it's off itunes the DRM won't let you burn onto another computer so just download more off torrents using Transmission (torrents for mac).

why? The software is out there to do everything you can with a PC (only the office suite available is better than MS office and is free!) and when it comes to graphics and video, why do you think the professionals always only use macs?

Not in my line of business (manufacturing) OD - except for graphics and design - but thats what the MAC was designed for. I have looked into it - just not available.

mac is the way forward for professionals, and the likes of pc is just to well useless,
its all we use here and well its much better for most jobs,

and dont get stupid viruses same way as pcs

My little Asus netbook which is happily running XP Pro hasn't had a single virus in the 1 year 2 months i've owned it. Cos i'm careful what sites i visit and i don't download 'music' thats only 400kb in size and has no bit rate.

I'm solely design work nowadays. Still choose a PC.

Defender = Powerful gaming PC
Freelander = Not so powerful but useful and comfortable netbook

BMW X3 = Useless, overpriced MAC

And before anyone asks, i owned a Mac Mini for quite a while before selling it as i only ever used it as an alarm clock in the end. Could not do any productive programming on it as i was writing a lot of PHP at the time, and in web design whats the point in having a mac to do your graphics and a pc to do your coding?

Asus eeepc netbook dual boot,6 cell battery and ubuntu and windows.

Cheap, sturdy and reliable:eek: mac book how much:croc: intel mac hardware lock is pure profiteering.

Lost my iTune downloads once (laptop stolen). I emailed iTune through Apple's customer service, and they got me almost all of them back through their archives. They allowed me to download back the whole lot, and were very helpful.

Now, people who talk about Macs with a smirk have usually never used one, or never been able to go through the few days it takes to "adapt" to one.

But one thing is sure, once you start using Mac, you don't want to ever have anything to do with a Windows based machine again.

Want an example? On a PC, a hard reboot is Ctrl+Alt+Del. Toddlers know that before they know how to say "Ma-ma".

A couple of months ago, I installed Windows on my Mac (have one 3D app belonging to Mr Gates that, how strange, cannot be had in Mac version). Well, the moment I started Windows, my computer crashed...

Now, the point is not the crash with Windows (no real surprise there!), but after running exclusively Macs for 6 years, I just had NO IDEA how you do a hard reboot on Mac. Never needed to do one before...

I always wondered who bought the small percentage of the computer market that is mac - it's the same people who buy range rover sport -they are the only buggers who can afford either.
yup kindergarten is nice, you just do the things youre allowed by that nice mr jobs.

then its

burn the heretic, burn him now for daring to suggest that in most ways a pc is just easier.
after all, in the early 80's when the market first really got going apple really did rule the roost, been downhill all the way since.

didnt realize there was such strong feelings for or against mac . its only a computer ffs.
but a mac will **** on a pc all day . phoned mac free helpline guy got me sorted in 10 mins. tell where you get that service for a pc. you dont. all back to normal now happy days.
