Put simply he didn't have a kinetic rope, and even if he did, he used the completely wrong technoque to get the stuck one out. I can't understand why they didn't dig a little first for the waffle boards to sit lower in .. and make a tug easier, safer and possibly a one-shot job .. 
But then, I wasn't there and the video might not have shown the effort put in ...
Anyone know where this is? They sound like Leeds/Bradford way and I've seen the same people a few times on Youtube.

You know how on youtube it links to related videos....well I followed some and found the same people making lots of vids - ie the Tom driver bloke and the invisible, but very recognisably voiced, camera man.

OK Lets face it... if you are on a legal right of way... or ground with legit legal access, people from this forum will helop you out. Jesus... I would drive to help you out if that were the case.
BUT
There is a problem...
Some people drive where they have no legal right to do so. Councils use this fact to close the lanes that reasonable people use every day/week or few months. Areas that are supervised local play and play sites also provide more challenging scenarios for you to play in.
This seems to be neither a legal lane/row or p&p. So wtf is it? If you are playing where you shouldn't then you are really in the **** because everyone on this forum ( I hope) will ostracise you for it.
We work hard to keep ROW open to all; and people liike this make it more difficult for us.
If you are on a legit ROW then please accept my apoligies and post your sources (ie: local council definitive map; OS Survey map etc.) So that we may help you further.
If you are one of the few that are trying to kill our sport... restrict our access to greenlanes... trying to play on private ground without permission...then I hoppe your vehicle is crushed.
