hello people, problem beyond my ken, freelander mk1 td4 2006 facelift.

problem, Trying to remove under front wing the indicator bulb holder, the turn button/ holder promptly broke off - SO how to remove said indicator holder, As i see it cannot remove front light unit without first pulling this indicator bulb holder ???? Any advice welcome, The wheel arch frame hole does not readily offer space for tools etc.. many thanks Prof.Ken in Romania. or [email protected].

There may be a plug for the wires. If that unplug then remove the light unit. Can't remember if has or not. Can check later on a spare unit if you need it.

No plug on indicator. All wiring on multi-plug in engine bay. See photos. The whole lamp unit will come out with the indicator lamp holder still fitted.

If you can't reach then pop the wheel arch liner out. If you want to take the whole lamp unit out then bumper has to come off too!

Hope these help you see what you are dealing with. 20240810_164551.jpg20240810_164542.jpg

You may as well remove the bumper so that you can remove the whole lamp as it is likely to need changing.

When the indicator went on mine it was because the contacts between the lamp and the bulb holder had burnt out. It sounds like that is what has happened to yours and it has melted the plastic and fused the holder into the lamp. Which is why the handle has broken off when you turned it.

I melted some solder into the contacts on mine which worked for a few months, but its not a great fix. When it went again, I swapped the headlights out from my parts car.
