found it on FB he lives in windermere, so local, don't get me wrong what has Glass got to do with it? people think 4wd and drive off anywhere! what if he had been in a mondeo, would that be different?
just cos he has got Range rover/landrover on his bonnet, does it portray bad amongst everybody else! you see it all the time up here people getting lost, he should of stumped up and got Furness cars and commercials to get him out, that would of cost him! i take it he was not a landyzone member? thing is all these off roaders/ green laners are causing a lot of damage up here, Parkamoor where they turn around at the top, it is getting worse, went passed today on the bike! big tyres all the mods then certain drivers think that they are on the pay and play where mud flying and ruts are an erection, spoils it for the sensible ones,we have land, and when it's wet the easiest thing is stay off it! make no mess, rant over!
GLASS got involved because the dammed thing had been there for 24 hours, I assume in full view of a public car park. Unfortunately this dick head was out green laning. So even though he is just some local muppet it reflects badly on the rest of us. I agree the others should not be causing ruts and driving off piste. However Parkamoor is a ROAD, just because the authorities don't bother to maintain it doesn't mean it stops being one. I wonder what car drivers would do if they made one of the tarmac roads a dead end, turn round on the verge perhaps.
true, but there is turning and turning! some must just put there foot down and power slide around,i know lads who go off piste as when your local it has been done for years, no FB then,
Ah so the locals are contributing to giving Green Laning a bad name. Perhaps on this occasion its a good thing the police are involved. We need to stop all the off piste, not just the 'out of area' vehicles. Perhaps the National Park should also be informed
Ditto - the farmer won't care who it is!I can't see any difference whether it's a local or someone who's travelled.
Off piste gives us all a bad name
I quite agree.Ditto - the farmer won't care who it is!
try this, my son found it as he knows a mate that knows of him

Same bloke different thread. He dont seem to know about 4wd or laning.
FB still going, he is a young lad, he aint bothered about older people politics, probably knows local coppers too!
short cuts, back lanes, call it what you want, the guy/ kid in question was well and truly out of his depth, straight through the heather. going nowhere, no sign of tracks or route at all, you get into and around most areas in question, there are lanes, roads access routes to small paddocks, allotments etc, all known when and are locally, not routes that are used for convoys of 4x4's etc, all been traveled for years and some still are by locals well and truly before Grizedale etc was used for pleasure, we have and still use some routes around far arnside, top side of coniston for access to water tanks, through the national trust to maintain water supply sources, ie all off road, but not published on public forums, most routes were accessibly by tef20's etc to get crops in, a lot of routes are passed down from generations of how and where too, this guy was blatantly trying to offroad, the link in facebook has been going for a number of days, i would honestly think this wasn't his 1st time at it!
besides likes of Lakes Rob can comment, where he lives he isn't born and bred! he wouldn't know half of the lanes around cark, holker, cartmel, flookburgh, newton, lindale, grange etc, or which land belongs to which farmer?
some things are country/local pursuits, some are not!
, Parkamoor where they turn around at the top, it is getting worse
Don't turn at the sign..... Turn where the Orpa ends, you do have a map?
a lot cannot have one one, neither a vehicle to even get over the terrain to get to the top, which rescue squad must of rescued the vehicle that deposited the latest sump-full of oil and half of the sump by the look of it, plus the vehicle that has coat the wall at the bottom by the hamlet! it is getting used a lot,
But as I said these are public roads.
If someone damaged their car on a poor surface on any other public highway, would you blame them??
