oh ok , well Mr muds and I could certainly be of help in some capacity - not that anyone ever comes to Cornwall these days..:)

I know how you feel, noone ever comes to Norfolk but we're here to help if/when it ever does happen.

Great to hear of another success story for LZIR.

As they said above.
Please also remember you don't always breakdown at home.

It is useful to have someone with local knowledge ( and possibly a lift).

Particularly with girlies. Someone local that you "know", might be a morale boost if stuck in some God forsaken place ( like Cornwall or Norfolk:))

Sod the car - did he get the pics?

I think he deserves a beer or two to cover his fuel :p

All fixed... i completely failed on the picture... on the basis that a pic of a oil pressure switch is really not that exciting...! Although she does have a lovely landy!

Financial reimbursement was offered for the part and diesel and effort, etc. however was graciously declined... the offer is important but not the actual money

I can do collections and deliveries of parts, I make great cups of Tea and I can give people lifts if they need it x

I can concur that the cups of tea are indeed great - thanks :D
Hope you enjoy Wales :D

I must also pass my thanks onto a member of the Northants4x4 club who provided me with the replacement switch free of charge

Thanks sno. Broke down in cov. Petrol defender. Rac thinks oil pressure switch causing fuel pump relay to shut off. Can anyone help

can someone explain to me how, on a 2.5 petrol, the oil pressure switch has any interaction on the fuel? it just lights the warning lamp!

I have no confidence in the RAC man,

Not too bad... but, not am just as confused about the problem as the rest of you...

Hi, don't know how the fuel pump is wired up in the defender but the old rover sd1 v8s was wired so if you lost oil pressure it would cut the fuel to save damage to the engine, don't know if it's any help but just a thought as to what the rac man is thinking?
