Obviously the type of women you choose to hang around with. :) You must've been out of the trade a long time. Plenty of females in the trade now.
Fuel pump: there was no sound from my veh when fuel pump failed, although until AA guy drained battery, the battery light did come on and just in case you missed it, in your rush to jump on my post, I'm not the only one who mentioned it may be fuel pump.
I think I just heard your rock calling you ;)

Yeah I'm sure there are a lot of women now most "mechanics" are just fitters who blindly swap parts until the problem goes away.

You can also put in a manual lockup which allows you to bump start an auto as you get direct drive to the engine. But that is by the by. I'd love to see someone trying to bump start a L322. I'd just enjoy watching someone trying to push one.

There is no way of locking a ZF box that I'm aware of that will allow a bump or tow start. Unless the engine is running there is no oil pressure to engage the clutches.

I don't think there is for the ZF, this was on some GM (Yankie GM) boxes.

I'm with Keith on this one...modern Autos rely on Hydraulic Pressure to engage the drive clutches and brake sets in the box....

When my Fuel pump went, I had to push it from in front of the garage to get the other half's car out...only about 20 feet and that damn near killed me pushing it back...the incline is not noticeable - until you have to push 2.7 tons of car up it!! I played Rugby so I am a heavy set guy, but boy, never wanna do that again!
