I want to buy a discovery on limited budget eg £3000 ish
I'd like the es as gadget idiot I'm afraid
Been offered a es on 123k milage with mot tax 8months 2002 plate
For 3000
What do I need to look for etc

That sounds cheapish for an 02 so would be on the lookout for rear chassis rust for one. If it's got ace make sure it works and check for leaks on rotten pipework. If it's got air suspension check it works. And make sure it has got a good service history as that is very important on the td5.do a bit of research and take your time. Don't go jumping in or your bank account may suffer.

If your max budget is £3k then I'd personally be on the lookout for something around the £2-2.5k as you WILL need money aside to either repair or add bits of bling to it sooner or later.
