First apologies to all the serious Mudpluggers out there for buying a girls car. In my defence it was:

A. Cheap
B. See A.

This is a second car so I'm just going to tinker with it and smoke it through the summer without the roof on (Weather Permitting).

I'm building a shopping list whether it'll get all these items or not I dont know but I foresee me owning it for a Looooooong time so I guess it'll be an ongoing project.

So priorities are to sort the broken drivers side Mirror Assembly, Replace front discs and pads, investigate hydraulic fluid leak from the front and sort.

Then i'm thinking, obtain some kind of fabric roof not sure if I'll get the whole cantilever thing or just the shower roof I guess price will determine this.

Then we get into the more serious stuff such as...

Reinstate AWD
Lift Kit
Wheel Spacers
Roof Light Bar
Front Bull Bar

Of course everything in the final category will be a wait and see endeavor I'll source things off of eBay to keep the costs low (I hope).

One query though its a 2000 W plate its hardtop roof has no windows in much like the ones on the commercial Freelanders. Also its little Land Rover plaque on the side says Land Rover special Vehicles.

I think Ive only seen these on Commercials also. However, this car has a rear seat ? could this be a commercial that's been converted ???

Oh yeah its white too, a diesel (Not sure if TD4 or just the 2.0) has done 138,000 and has been converted to 2WD.

And there you have it :)

sounds like a commercial that has being converted and if the 4x4 system isnt working you really need to find out why

could have being a faulty VCU could be a fooked IRD

Hi,
Thanks for all of the positive welcoming comments. I really regret saying hello now.

Here's the thing...

1. For whatever reason it has occurred, is it not accurate to say the vehicle has been converted to 2wd?

2. So it COULD cost 1500 pounds to return to AWD. So I guess if I couldn't afford that it would stay as 2WD. But wait! this is a project and I'm not poverty stricken. Maybe there's some honest nobility to returning something that's unloved back to working condition.

3. I'm quite surprised that the senior members of this forum come across, not as knowledgeable enthusiasts but rather, pessimistic miseries. How very disappointing.

Haha they goad newbies around here. Very very good forum but if you make a mistake you will have the **** taken along with the most helpful members bending over backwards to help.

You'll soon get a used to it:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

There is more knowledge (other peoples, not mine:rolleyes:) and help available on this forum than you will know what to do with, but a sense of humour is essential. Have a look round and join in, you've got a Land Rover you WILL need help:):):tea:
