Hi, my name is Gerd, i live close to Frankfurt and i am a great fan of british Vintage Cars.
I own a 1973 Rolls Royce Corniche DHC and now -since a few days- a 3-door Range Rover of 1981.
The Car is near perfect, in never restored original condition with 66.000 Kilometers. First delivery was in Treviso/Italy now with two previous owners. I am very proud an happy about the car.

Thank you very much to all of you! Yes she has Powersteering and aircondition, but no overdrive. I need a few days to understand everything on the car.
The first thing i will do to preserve it perfectly against corrosion, may be i will spend a electronic ignition. I found a complete distributor from Pertronix D174510 i think, or are they better ones?
 
Oh yeah. Welcome. A proper landy and a valuable one tool. Any more photos? That's a totally classic Range Rover,

Bring yourself over to the Range Rover section. Many of the more knowledgeable members don't visit this section but do hang around the Range Rover specific board :)

In my humble opinion, the early 3-door RRCs are the best thing JLR have ever produced. A perfect balance of 4x4 ability, a rugged chiselled but elegant appearance and just the right level of comfort without all the electronic whistles and bells; aimed at the 'gentleman farmer' and landowner, pigs and bales of hay in the back by day and penguin suits in the evening!
I was lucky enough to drive a 3-door manual 3.5V8 from London to Malaga and back in the late 70s (hired from Guy Salmon Ltd for a wealthy overseas client who used it twice :rolleyes:) It was a head turner and the drive was effortless, comfortable pleasure.

With it being so original and int such good condition it would be good to have a lot more photo's to assist other owners when trying to restore their classic rr's back to original condition. Praps a special fred for it.

I own the car only one week, so i have no pics of my own, i bought the car from a wellknown vintage and exotic car dealer who is a friend of mine.
Hope my english is ok, it would be a pleasure for me to help other owners and i appreciate it very much if other owners help me.

Thank you, thats my opinion too - no electronics, no gimmicks, no annoying tinkling, no little helpers that nobody need. the intention to own a early Range Rover cames from my most famous Rockn Roll drummer Ginger Baker (Cream) who travelled Africa in such a car in the very early seventies. Before that, he travelled to afric in a Jensen Interceptor 4x4
