Hi All
To get heated seats working i need to get the connection from the back of the HEVAC and it's connecting wire down to the footwell.
I have ordered some replacement heated seats but i will need that connection from the back of the HEVAC to get them working does any one know where i can get it from ?
I am attaching photo's so you can see what i am talking about or maybe someone has that connection i need and could let me have it i of course would cover the cost for it no problem.

Hi

Ref this mod , how u getting on with it , plus is nice helping as u have good manners with please and thks , suprising how many times some ask for help and never mention it

Between all of us we can at least steer u in the right direction and help, really nice people here and is like a family where we all help each other

Bought mine 3 x years ago in nov and suprising how quickly u pick up knowledge from others

Bingo , found the post that shows u how to wire heated seats from the HVAC unit

Should keep u busy, lol

Hi gstuart
That is some great info the replacement seats are in my garage at the moment and i am upstairs on my pc so will have to go and check on the drivers seat for those 1,2,3 buttons!
But to be honest i am no that bothered about them being memory or not just as long as they work that would be fine, looking at Ambit's info it looks relatively a simple task to get them working that's brill . the only thing though it is not mentioned in the post if the memory ecu has to be in place ? and as you can see from the pictures of my replacement seats i do not have it ! I have contacted the people i bought the seats from but they are saying that is not included I argued that was not stated in the advert but they are saying they don't have one any way so i will need to get one (bummer).
But it does have to be there to follow his instructions am i correct ? As i don't really want to start messing about with all them plugs under the seat i think that the two second option would be ok for me.
I cannot thank you enough for all your help i would not have had a clue without your input and also ( td4van ) who told me about the seat memory ecu and all others that have offered me assistance what a great site.
If you have a couple of miniuts to spare and can confirm that i need that seat memory ecu in place to follow Ambit's post that would be great.

Hi

Ur very welcome and glad it helped

To be honest I’m not 100% if u need the memory module there , ie when u do a wiring modification if it relies on the memory ecu of not for the wiring bypass to work would rather be totally honest and up front with u so u know where ur at

I first done the wiring mod that only provided the 2 x second burst, that was through the memory module , then went onto removing everything for the constant power

Ref the heating of the seats I can’t see not having the memory module would effect it in any way as the power feed from the hvac has to be plugged into the large black connector to connect to the heated seat pad

If u ask on the D3 forum there are plenty who have done all sorts of mods and at least then ur get a 100% percent confirmation

As a side note ur passenger seat will be 6 x way and drivers 8 x way

think I paid around £40-60 quid for the switch and another £40 on looks etc to make it all non memory , passenger seat should be a straight plug and play minus the heated bit until u sort the wiring out for that

Also a small bit of info , the black connector under the seat with the bolt through the middle u can’t plug in the wrong coloured plug

Good luck and please let us all know how it goes

Thank you gstuart
That is great help I think i should get the memory ecu so it will work , But thank you for your quick reply i am now searching for the memory ecu as regards as the heated side of it one of the posts you sent me shows how to wire from the HEVAC down to the footwell have not had time to study that post in full yet but will during the day and hopefully i will get them working too.
I will post how i get on hopefully with some photo's when i have completed the task
Thank you again Ron

Hi

Great it helped , plus if u post on the other forum at least u can 100% confirm things if the memory module is needed for the 2 x second seat power burst

Think the memory ecus are expensive , pretty sure it won’t be needed for the heating side , if ur going to do away with the memory seat switch and make a new loom it will be redundant

Indeed , plse let us know how it goes

Yes i have also been posting on the Disco3Club site but not getting many replies but looking at the post you sent me it is disco3.co.uk is this a different site to the disco3club site if it is i will join the disco3.co.uk site and post on there.
Thank you Ron

Plus been searching and found the picture of my seat when I had the memory ecu fitted, shows u then what wires went into it

Hi All
Sorry to open this topic again with the heated seat saga but i am having some problems getting them to work ?
Now as you can see from the photo's i sent for a HEVAC for my basic Disco 3 and i have also bought two front electric heated seats. Now i have fitted the seats and i have carried out the bypass of the memory module as mentioned in another thread and the electrics are working fine.
But i am having headaches with the heated seats .
Now as you all know the wiring from the foot wells to the seats is in place but the wiring from the HEVAC to the foot wells is not in place ? After hard searches i finally found someone who had a dash harness with the heated seat loom in it so i purchased this from him and set about stripping out the part of the loom for the heated seats , Now on the plug from the HEVAC there are six wires two heavy grade green wires with a white stripe and one blue with a grey stripe one blue with a move stripe and two light green wires.
While i was stripping the loom out i observed that the two green with white stripe wire were joined together and coming out the loom as one green with a white stripe , now i don't think this was altered by anyone as this was buried in the original loom and covered with the cloth type tape as done by the manufacturer . by stripping out the loom i could see the longest wires and plugs were for the drivers side and the shorter wires and plugs were for the passengers side. Now after removing the foot well kick plates i had access to the connectors and could see where to connect the wires too it was self explanatory as if i had a blue/grey coming out of the bottom of a connector but no blue/grey going in from main loom then that was it plus the position in the conector was the same as the position in the conector in the replacement i had acquired. so i was able to connect one blue/grey and one light green wire in the one foot well and one blue/move and one light green wire in the other foot well so all good and the connectors were the same as what was on this new loom a 22 pin green connector and a 12 pin grey connector in each foot well.
Now this is where my problems started the two green/white wires that merged into one green/white wire went to a green 12 pin connector and there is no 12 pin green connector in either foot well so i did not know where this green/white wire should be connected ? but looking at the under side of a complete engine compartment fuse box that i have for spares i could see a similar green/white wire that was connected to the 25 amp heated seat fuse, so i made a temporary connection to that fuse in my fuse box so i now had 12v to the connection of the HEVAC . But the seats still did not heat up and if i used my multi meter to check for power on the blue/grey and blue/move wires while pressing the heated seat buttons they did not go live they stayed at zero volts but the buttons on the HEVAC light up and the light green wires have about 5 volts on them. So now i am stuck has anyone had this issue and sorted it out could the HEVAC be faulty ? or am i missing something ? and where would this green/white wire need to be connected ? will i have to make a connection some how to the 25 amp fuse?.
Any help please would be very much appreciated.
Can't understand if or what i am doing wrong surely the blue/grey blue/move wires should receive 12 volts to supply the heated seat elements when you press the heated seat buttons ?
Does any one have any idea what's wrong ?
Any input would be great if any one can help.
Thank you all.

Hi All
Update on the heated seat issue.
A big thank you to pete K , Globetrotter 448 and Erea.
I now have them working the front seats that is. As that was all i was after.pete K was spot on it was the black green wire that was not connected .
The power wire green /white that had to go to the 25amp fuse 7 did present me with some issues as i could not find the connecction inside the the car for it to connect to ? And was not prepared to stripp out all the dash to find it . So i managed to run it from under the dash to the engine compartment and into the back of the fuse box then connect to the green/white wire under the fuse 7 and add solder to ensure a good connection then taped over the joint, it was a real mission to feed the wire from inside the car to engine compartment but i got there in the end.
And now all working fine.
I also fitted my Parrot handsfree system it is the MKI 9200 system which gives me phone connection through the radio and also it has a usb, ipod, aux connections while i had the dash out so all is good now.
And no Erea i did not have to program the CCF to enable the heated seats to work.
